Queen Elizabeth-class aircraft carrier.
Built by the Aircraft Carrier Alliance, it was laid down on 26 May 2011, launched on 21 December 2017 and named by HRH The Duchess of Cornwall on the 8 September 2017.
The ship left the Rosyth fitting out basin on 20 September 2019 anchoring in the Firth of Forth, to carry out initial engine and system tests, while waiting for suitable tide condition to pass under the three Firth of Forth bridges before commencing sea trials on 22 September 2019.
She arrived at her homeport of Portsmouth under the command of Captain Darren Houston RN, before commissioning on the 10 December 2019.
Ship’s motto: Ich Dien ‘I Serve’.
