Audacious-class Fleet Carrier
HMS Ark Royal (R09) was a fleet carrier of the Audacious class, built by Cammell Laird. She was launched on the 3 March 1950 and commissioned on the 25 February 1955. Between 1967 and 1970, she was modified to operate the heavier Phantom F-4K and is pictured leaving Plymouth for the scrapyard, a homage to Turner's 'The Fighting Temeraire'.
Paper art prints featuring the Ship's Crest and motto, are available, in A4 lustre surface, A3 lustre surface and A2 matt surface sizes, there is also the option of a 14 x 20 inch canvas print.
